Erik Asuncion is the creative force behind Dusty Fox. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Erik moved to East Texas to study Mechanical Engineering before spending a decade as a product designer and engineer in the oil and gas industry. Since 2018, he has brought his technical background to construction project management.

Outside of work, Erik loves traveling the world, hiking, camping, and exploring urban environments by foot and public transit. A creative at heart, he stays inspired by DJing and designing outfits for his next music festival. He currently resides in Seattle, WA with his husband and their fox-like dog.

In 2025, Erik bought his first deck with a specific goal in mind: to perform at an annual renegade rave organized with his friends, as well as for his Burning Man camp. Taking to the decks reignited his creative spark, motivating him to dive deeper into the art of DJing and continually refine his craft.

The birth of Dusty Fox

A young dusty kit with a dream…

Dusty Fox’s musical journey began in third grade when he first picked up the trumpet. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion spanning high school and college, where he performed in symphonic bands, jazz ensembles, church groups, choir, and musical theatre. These diverse experiences laid the groundwork for his deep understanding of music theory and ignited his love for live performance.
